Maruti Suzuki is about the launch the next generation Swift in India after already launching it in many international markets in the last few weeks.

The new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is about to launch in the Indian market. It has been one of the highest-selling vehicles here for the longest time. First introduced in 2005, the hatchback will now arrive in its 4th generation avatar. All this while, the largest carmaker in the country has kept it fresh with frequent updates and minor facelifts. As a result, it still remains in high demand even after 19 years of existence. The upcoming next-gen model will come with aesthetic, as well as mechanical alterations.

This video appears on the Eastham Motors channel on YouTube. It is a UK-based Suzuki dealer in the Wirral and Chester areas. Since the new Swift has already been launched in the UK, we get to witness the hatchback in real life. This time around, the Swift is available in a red and black, dual-tone paint scheme. We will most likely get this combination on the Indian-spec trim as well. Along with this, there will be multiple monotone and dual-tone options. Apart from that, the exterior bears a lot of resemblance to the existing model. But the headlamp, bumpers, grille, alloy wheels and rear profile are slightly tweaked to tell it apart from the current unit. We expect all these changes to be present in the Indian model too.

Since this is the new generation variant, we will even see a new engine this time around. The new Swift will bid farewell to the current K Series mill which has been powering the hatchback for years now. Instead, there will be a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z Series unit with mild hybrid technology. While no official announcements are out yet, it will output almost similar figures as the K Series unit but will be slightly more fuel efficient. Maruti is clearly continuing with its mileage game to woo the customers. Complimenting this engine will be manual and automatic transmissions. More details will appear closer to the launch.
