The new Volkswagen Polo gets an upgrade. The upgrade is huge and matches with its siblings, giving tough competition to the other hatchbacks in the segment.
The new Polo was reviewed at Berlin, Germany and is recently put up for sale in the European markets. The biggest upgrade that Polo receives is that it will get a much lighter MQB platform. Earlier, Polo used the PQ 25 underpinnings. However, it is speculated that the Indian version would not get the MQB platform.
Polo gets a bigger body with increased length, wide and cabin space. The new design has also reduced some of its weight. The body is reported to be similar to its sibling, Volkswagen Golf. The hatchback will be available in petrol and diesel variants.
New Gen Volkswagen Polo Features
The car has been equipped with latest features for both exterior and interiors of the car. For exteriors, it gets main features like converging headlamps, flatter roof, and revised bumpers. Interior facelift includes Apple Car play and Android Auto, Audi’s virtual cockpit display, pedestrian detection and more.
Polo gets the sporty exhaust with sharp lights, giving the car its legendary sporty looks. The top end version gets glossy black additions to its spoilers, sides, rears, and bumpers. The car gets the option of 17-inch or 18-inch alloys depending on the chosen model.
Coming to the safety, it offers five airbags, electronic stability program, anti-slip regulation, and city emergency braking system. Basically, the car gets ultra modern, at the same time specifying over safety issues. However, all of these features are equipped with the international model and it is not clear in the case of Indian version.
New Gen Volkswagen Polo Price
The price of the model is speculated to be in between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 11 lakh for the top end version. If the Indian version receives the MQB platform, then the pricing might increase.
New Gen Volkswagen Polo Engine

The 1.0 Litre petrol will produce 65 BHP and 115 BHP of power and the other Turbo Petrol version will produce 95 BHP and 115 BHP of power.
The 1.5 Litre Diesel engine, similar to Golf, will produce 90 BHP and 130 BHP of power. On the other hand, the petrol variant will produce 140 BHP and 160 BHP of power. The mileage is reported to be around 18 KMPL for city and 20 for highways.
