Nissan has taken the wraps off the Magnite sub compact SUV which will rival the likes of Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Maruti Vitara Brezza among others.
Nissan Magnite has been unveiled globally, but will first enter the Indian market. It is the brand’s brand new subcompact SUV and will be launched in the coming months. The features and engine specifications have also been revealed and this will be the production-ready version itself of the SUV. Technically, now we only have to wait for its pricing and variants list.
Nissan Magnite looks unique and is a mixed bag of traditional styling with modern cues. Also, what we can see here is that there are some European styling cues taken as well. Some elements inside the cabin are taken up from Triber. The front grille ditches the traditional V-Grille and is now better in terms of design.
Powering the subcompact SUV will be two engines, including a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo motor and a 1.0 Litre petrol engine. The base variants will get the second engine option. The turbo engine will be capable of producing around 100 PS, paired with a CVT and a 5-speed manual gearbox. The regular petrol engine will produce around 72 PS and will come with a 5-speed MT as standard.
Features onboard include a 360-degree camera, 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system, Wireless Android Auto and Wireless Apple CarPlay, 7-inch fully digital TFT colour instrument cluster, rear AC vents, LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, manual height adjuster and engine start/stop button.
Safety bits will include traction control, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and a 360-degree camera. Additionally, you can take a Tech Pack with the car which will also include wireless charger and built in automatic air purifier. Prices expected are between Rs 5 Lakhs to Rs 7 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Although, reports suggest that the top-end variant could end under Rs 6 Lakhs. Check out our detailed walkaround video of Magnite where we show all of its features!
