Okinawa is bringing up a new electric maxi-scooter by the name of Cruiser. The scooter will be introduced in a concept form at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Electric two-wheeler startup Okinawa has teased its upcoming product. Okinawa Cruiser will be the brand’s upcoming electric maxi scooter. Its design outline has been revealed in the latest teaser image.
Okinawa might introduce the Cruiser electric scooter at the 2020 Auto Expo in a concept version. The launch is likely to happen in 2021. It will be amongst the very few maxi-scooters that we have in India, that too an electric one.
The technical details are not out, but we are expecting it to be identical to the i-Praise electric scooter. The latter gets a range of 160 kms and an achievable top speed of 70 km/hr. The maxi-scooter could probably get slightly higher top speed.

Talking about the styling, it will be similar to the global maxi scooters. The India-spec Burgman is a semi-maxi scooter because it just gets the front styling right. Maxi-scooters are meant for long touring and the name of the scooter now fits in.
We can also premium features like a fully digital speedometer, Bluetooth connection, LED headlamps, disc brakes and alloy wheels. It will replace the i-Praise as the flagship Okinawa electric scooter, once launched.
For the 2020 Auto Expo, Okinawa will also showcase the Oki100, its electric motorcycle. The Oki100 will be a commuter-aimed electric motorcycle with a range of 150 kms and a top speed of 100 km/hr. It can be fully charged in just 2 hours.

This year’s Auto Expo will see many electric scooters and motorcycles in the showcase. Suzuki might also showcase an electric scooter concept, as the brand has hinted that it is considering electric scooters for India.
