Renault India is looking to capitalise on the success of the Kwid by adding new variants to the small hatchback’s lineup. These new variants include a 1000cc version that comes with a choice of manual and automatic transmission options. The new 1.0 L Kwid is available with only a 5-speed manual for now. Showcased at the Auto Expo in February 2016, the 1000cc Kwid is targeted at the Alto K10 and Hyundai Eon 1.0. It gets a 1.0 L SCe petrol engine that is more powerful than the 800cc model. Renault Kwid 1000cc Price in India
Unlike the 800cc Kwid, the 1000cc Kwid is only available in the top-end RxT trim. The RxT variant of the Kwid 1.0 L costs Rs. 3.83 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the RxT(O) trim is priced at Rs. 3.96 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Renault Kwid 1000cc Bookings
The launch took place on 22nd August, 2016. For now, only the manual transmission variant has been launched. Also coming our way in future are the Kwid Climber and Kwid Racer models. The new Kwid 1.0 SCe can be booked for Rs. 10,000. Bookings of this vehicle are also open on PayTM.

Powering the 1000cc Kwid is a new engine that churns out 67 bhp and 91 Nm. There had been reports suggesting the Kwid 1000cc variants will get bigger 14-inch alloys and probably a bigger fuel tank, but that is not the case. Transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual for now. The 5-speed AMT is likely to join the lineup in the coming months.

Renault Kwid 1000cc Exterior Design
Visually, the 1000cc Kwid is nearly identical to the current variants of the small hatchback. The only additions to the exteriors include side decals and silver finish ORVMs. The automatic or AMT variants will get ‘Easy-R’ badging as well. The SUV-inspired exteriors of the Kwid seem to have struck all the right chords with Indian buyers. Bits like muscular wheel arches, flat bonnet and body cladding help give the Kwid certain crossover-like traits, which the Indian public is currently so crazy about.
Renault Kwid 1000cc Interior Design
The interiors of the Kwid do not see any major changes. The 1000cc variants get the same neatly laid out dashboard with a centrally mounted touchscreen AVN. Automatic variants of the 1000cc Kwid will feature a rotary gear selector knob that will slot in below the aircon controls. The Renault Kwid boasts a spacious cabin with comfortable seating for 4-5 passengers. Its 300-litre boot space is not just the best in its class, but can easily put cars belonging to higher segments to shame.
