The Renault Triber starts at a price of Rs 4.95 lakh for the base trim and top model fetches your pocket by Rs 6.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Renault Triber seems to be picking up the pace good as the August sales stand to 2,490 units. Yes, it was launched on August 28 and if statistics are to be seen then the sales for the same are really astonishing.
Renault Triber is only available in sole petrol engine and despite having no automatic transmission, the August sales have turned out to be good. The French manufacturer says that the AMT version for the car will launch by 2020.
The 7-seater car comes in various seating configuration and competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Ford Figo. And if the logical comparison is seen for the car then it directly rivals the likes of Datsun GO+.
Renault Triber is based on the extended platform of the Kwid that is the CMF-A. This platform is specially designed for the Indian markets. This is the first of the four new cars that Renault plans to introduce in India in the next two years, in an attempt to double their sales by 2022.
Talking mechanically, the car comes with a 1.0-litre petrol engine and it churns out 74 bhp along with 96 Nm of peak torque. Transmission option includes a 5-speed manual gearbox and the ARAI claimed mileage stands at 20 km/l.
The car is feature rich too as it carries a large 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the inside. It supports connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also, the dual-tone dashboard design gives it a neat approach from Renault.
The car also features a multi-function steering wheel, digital speedometer, keyless entry, push button start and other such features. It gets AC vents for all three rows, two gloved boxes, power windows, rear wash pipe and others.
Safety features include four airbags – driver, passenger and front sides. Mind you, this is a first in its segment. Three-point seatbelts for all three rows, speed alert system, rear parking sensors and seatbelt reminder system as standard to comply with the new norms and will also come with a reverse camera on offer.
