ABS safety feature has now been introduced on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Redditch. Redditch variant comes in three colour options – Blue, Red and Green.
Royal Enfield is on the verge of fully updating its lineup with ABS. Now only a couple of motorcycles are left, which include Classic 350, Bullet 350 and Bullet 500.
RE has now introduced ABS on the Classic 350 Redditch. Royal Enfield introduced the particular variant in India in early 2017, as an alternative for the younger generation. It comes in three colour options – Redditch Red, Redditch Blue and Redditch Black.
Classic 350 Redditch comes at a price tag of Rs 1.57 Lakhs (ex-showroom), taking the on-road prices up to Rs 1.79 Lakhs. Redditch is the second model in Classic 350 lineup, below Gun Metal Grey and Signals Edition.
Redditch gets the same dual-channel ABS setup that comes on other RE bikes. It gets a 280mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the back.
Meanwhile, the rear drum variant and Non-ABS variant are still available in the market. Post safety norms in April 2019, both the variants would not be available.
Other than this, Classic 350 Redditch receives no further updates. It continues with the same chrome outlined headlight covering, oval-shaped toolbox and colour options that are inspired by the image of British motorcycles post World-War II.
It continues with the same 346cc air-cooled engine with TwinSpark ignition. The engine produces 19.1 BHP and 28 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
For suspension duties, it uses 35mm telescopic forks at the front and twin gas-charged suspension with 5-step adjustable preload at the back.
Royal Enfield’s first ABS equipped motorcycle was the Classic 350 Signals. Following which, it updated Himalayan, Classic 500 and Thunderbird Series. Bullet 350 and Bullet 500, the entry-level RE motorcycles, will soon get the update.
RE is currently riding success with the new Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650.
The bookings for the Twins are increasing regularly, taking the waiting period up to 3-4 months, based on the colour option. Reports suggest that more people prefer Interceptor over Continental GT 650.
The primary reason for this is because Interceptor offers a more relaxed position and better retro styling that Continental GT.
