Skoda Superb has been in the Indian market for over a decade now and the luxury sedan has been updated quite a bit with it designs and features. The current B8 generation which has been in the Indian market for 5 years now will soon get a facelift.
The Czech Republic brand, Skoda, plans to showcase the facelift debut at the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Slovakia because the brand is the main sponsor since very long.
Skoda Superb facelift plans to enter Indian markets by the end of 2019. As far as the sketches go, the front of the sedan shows a sharper look of the car with new bumpers and fog lights placed in a very neat way beneath the headlights. The car may also get updated LED headlights and the grille of the car will get an all chrome treatment.
Moving onto the rear, the images have not been out but the rear bumper may be little reworked on the designing and the tail lights will be more angular with a chrome strip which runs in the entire length of the car. It has also been said that the badging will be replaced by SKODA lettering. The side profile remains the same and the car may get a new set of alloy wheels.
The interiors of the car would remain same throughout the current model but the Superb might get a large touchscreen infotainment system with virtual cockpit, seen in modern Audis and a 360-degree camera to be debuted in L&K Trim.
There might be a new plug-in hybrid engine available for the Superb which will be tuned to a new 1.4L petrol motor. When both combined, the power will be between 200-250bhp.
Currently, the Superb is available in 1.8L Turbocharged petrol & 2.0L Turbocharged diesel engine. The former is available in both manual and automatic transmission churning out 177bhp with 250Nm of torque for manual. The automatic version gets the same power with 220Nm of torque and 7-speed DSG.
The 2.0L diesel motor churns out 174bhp with 350Nm of torque and is mated to both manuals as well as automatic transmission.
Once the Skoda Superb Facelift will be launched, it will compete against the likes of Volkswagen Passat, Toyota Camry Hybrid, Honda Accord Hybrid.
