Tata Bolt Launch today!
We reported in detail when we got to know that the Tata Bolt launch has been confirmed for 22nd January 2015 and now, we’ve prepared a detailed report on the newย hatchback, which is in process of getting launched into our car market at an eventย in Mumbai. The Boltย follows the recently launched Zest sedan, which is on sale in the highly competitive compact sedan segment. The Zest and the Bolt are part of Tata’s new generation vehicles, which also include the Kite hatchback, the Kite Compact Sedan and a Compact SUV based on the Nexon concept. Competitors
It will compete with Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and the upcoming Honda Jazz, among many others. The petrol variant of Maruti Suzuki Swift is powered byย K-Series petrol engine with VVT producingย 84.3 PS power at 6000 rpm andย 115 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. While diesel variant comes withย DDis diesel engine producingย 75 ps of power at 4000 rpm and peak torque ofย 190 Nm at 2000 rpm and it is priced nearly the same as expected price of Bolt.

It maybe noted that theย Tata Bolt hatchback will be available in both petrol and diesel engines- 1.2Tย Revotron petrol engine andย 1.3L Quadrajet diesel engine. The petrol engine will churn out 90PS of maximum power at 5000 RPM andย 140 Nm of peak torque from 1500-4000 rpm. While the Quadrajet diesel engine will produceย 75 PS of maximum power at 4000 rpm andย 190 Nm of peak torque at 1750-3000 rpm. The dimensions of the car areย 3825 x 1695 x 1550 mm ( length, width and height respectively). It has a wheelbase ofย 2470 mm.

For safety purpose, this car will come equipped with dual airbags, child safety lock, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking system), engine immobilizer, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) and central locking. Bolt hatchback might come with manual as well as AMT (Automatic Manual Transmission) like Zest later on, but at the launch, it is not expected to come with an AMT option. Tata Zestย with its AMT transmission ย gained popularity in Indian automobile market.
