The first official exterior photos of Tata Harrier are out! Tata has uploaded a video of its production and it has also rolled out the first Harrier from Tata’s Pune plant. Check out the video and the photos.
After much teasing and spying, here are the first official photos of Tata Harrier. Tata Motors has finally pulled the sheets off its highly anticipated SUV. Sadly, it only revealed the exteriors. Looking at the photos, we can say that Tata has kept the Harrier very much identical to the H5X concept. Harrier might be unveiled globally in December first week, following the announcement of prices in January 2019. The bookings for the SUV have already started. Read more about the Harrier here.
Tata Harrier is inspired by the Impact Design 2.0 Philosophy. The Harrier gets a curvy body, rather than sharp muscle creases. Although it seems to resemble a bit like Range Rover Evoque, because of a similar C-Shape pillar.
In the front, Harrier gets a whole newly designed front grille, that comes from Tata’s 3-Dimensional Humanity Line. The Humanity line covers the headlights and front grille. On the grille, you can spot the very sleek LED DRLs. The projector headlamps are placed on either side of the front grille, just above the front fog lamps.
There is proper housing for the headlamps as well as fog lamps. Between the headlamps, is an air-damp. It also gets a skid plate below the faux air-vents. On the side, we can see dual-tone electric ORVMs with turn indicators. The 17-inch alloy wheels are the same ones that were spotted while testing. It receives a black-coloured fibre cladding around the wheel arches and bumpers.
At the rear, we can see that it follows a very ‘flowy’ design. At the rear also, it gets the Humanity line – A black line running through both the tail lights. It gets a floating roof with shark fin antenna, rear spoiler rear fog lamps and dual-exhaust mufflers. At the rear, you can see the padding and the skid place.
Tata Motors has tried very hard to keep Tata Harrier true to its concept, and it surely has succeeded. So, here is Harrier standing in full glory. With time, we are sure to get a teaser or some spy shots of its interiors as well.
Tata Harrier gets a 2.0 Litre Kyrotec diesel engine, which is basically a retuned version of the Multijet diesel engine. The engine churns out 145 BHP and 350 Nm of peak torque. It will come with the option of a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic unit.
Rumours say that Harrer might also get a petrol-hybrid engine sometime later after its launch. There are rumours also of its all-electric variant by 2022.
The diesel engine will come with multi-drive modes and possible off-roading features like AWD and off-roading mode. The safety features expected include 7-airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, Traction Control, ESP, Hill Descent Control, Hill Assist control and more. There are chances it might offer a lot of standard safety features.
We reported earlier that the prices of Harrier were leaked. As per the reports, the Harrier starts off at Rs 16 Lakhs and goes up to Rs 21 Lakhs, on-road. If it follows this price range, then it will compete with Jeep Compass and Mahindra XUV 500.
