In a new video on YouTube, a Tata Punch has been completely revealed in a shade of white. The Punch is the upcoming micro SUV from Tata Motors which is based on the HBX showcased in the Auto Expo 2020. The micro SUV will take on the likes of Maruti Ignis, S-Presso, Renault Kwid and the upcoming Hyundai Casper. With the Punch, Tata will expand its portfolio even further to cement its number 3 place on the list of largest carmakers in the country after Maruti and Hyundai. The Punch is a rugged and muscular SUV that will offer practicality and modern features in the entry-level segment for Tata Motors. Many people in the semi-urban and rural market will take a liking to this product. Here are the details revealed on YouTube.
Tata Punch – Specifications, Dimensions & Colour Options
According to the YouTuber, the micro SUV will come with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine making 86 hp. There might well be turbo petrol on offer as well. This engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox. The dimensions of the Punch are expected to be 3840 mm (L), 1822 mm (W) and 1635 mm (H). This means that the micro SUV will have a tall silhouette and will be sufficiently wide too. This will put it just under Nexon and Altroz and the distinction will be the dimensions only. The other bits like the front fascia is heavily inspired by a mixture of Harrier, Nexon and Altroz. The colour options might include Blue, Grey, Orange, Red and White. It will be interesting to see if Tata offers a dual-tone paint scheme too.
Expected Interiors and Features
According to some spy videos, the features list might include things like a flat-bottom steering wheel which is becoming very popular with modern cars including some of Tata’s own products. This gives it a very sporty feel which is necessary for an SUV. Some of the other equipment lists include a floating Digital Touchscreen Infotainment System with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Air-Con vents and Digital Instrument Cluster which might be borrowed from other Tata products. Being a Tata car, the safety aspect of the Punch is expected to be top-class along with a strong built. The prices are expected to be in the vicinity of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh, ex-showroom.
