The front looks exactly the same except for the badging of Toyota on the grille. It also gets a brushed up front grille which now looks a looks a little shinier. Moving to the side of the car it is identical to the Maruti Baleno. The car sits on the 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels like that of its cousin.
At the rear, the hatchback gets a rear chrome grille and Toyota badging on the bootlid.
The interiors follow an all-black theme and the only highlight is Toyota badging on the steering wheel. Even features like a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, multi-information display are borrowed from Maruti Baleno. The Glanza gets a ‘Smart PlayCast’ infotainment unit.
Toyota Glanza gets the 1.2-litre, VVT engine churning out 82bhp with 113Nm of peak torque. The engine is BS-VI compliance so will fulfil the emission norms in advance. It will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT too.
The other 1.2litre Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine with a lithion-ion battery which is a mild-hybrid engine. This 90bhp with 114Nm of torque. We only see Toyota Glanza in petrol engine option whereas Maruti Baleno is also available with a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine too.
The car is available in two variants only, the base ‘G’ and the top spec ‘V’ trim. The features run identically to Baleno ‘Zeta’ and ‘Alpha’ variant.
The top end variant to gets projector headlamps that come with follow-me-home function, LED DRL’s, LED tail lamps, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and reverse camera. Safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD are standard.
Toyota Glanza Warranty
Toyota Glanza gets a warranty of 3 years or 100,000 Kilometers whichever is at earliest. On the other hand, Maruti Baleno offers a warranty period of just 40,000 Kilometers or 2 years.
Here, the former has an advantage over Maruti Baleno and those who are looking for keeping the car long or to clock the odometer quickly might consider Toyota over Baleno.
The car is available in two trim options, ‘G’ & ‘V’ and the prices for the same starts at Rs 7.22 lakh for the base variant and goes up to Rs 8.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The premium hatchback competes with Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.
