With BS6 deadline coming, some cars are being discontinued and some are still yet to receive their upgrade. These are the BS4 cars that you can still get.
Till now, most of the cars that are going to pass the BS6 norms have been upgraded. Now, if you go out at dealerships searching for a BS4 car you are in good luck because you will get it immediately and also with a lot of discounts.
As discussed in our other article, BS4 diesel cars will have a shorter life span if BS6 diesel is used for them. In the case of petrol cars, there is nothing to worry about. So, these are the cars that you can still find at dealerships, probably just a couple of units.
To note, we have gathered this information by enquiring with dealerships in Delhi. There is a chance that you can still buy the below-mentioned cars. But there are also chances that they might be sold out in your city or your nearest dealership, even if the latter is in Delhi.

BS4 Cars That Might Still Be Available At Dealerships – List
Hyundai i20 Diesel
Hyundai is going to upgrade the i20 with a new diesel engine. The 1.5 Litre diesel engine from Seltos will replace i20’s 1.4 Litre motor. However, the new diesel motor might directly come on the new generation i20 which is bound to come in very soon. The petrol engine has already been upgraded to BS6. In Delhi, a couple of dealerships still have 1-2 units of the i20.
Hyundai Venue Turbo Petrol And Diesel
Same goes with the Venue diesel. Venue has just gotten a new diesel engine from the Seltos. Our dealership sources said that in comparison to the petrol one, the BS6 turbo petrol variants started coming in a week later. On enquiry, we got to know that Venue diesel is very scarcely available at dealerships. The SX Turbo variant with the manual gearbox is available at most of the dealerships in Delhi.
Maruti S-Cross Diesel
Maruti has just launched the Vitara Brezza Petrol, with prices starting at Rs 7.34 Lakhs. S-Cross will also get the same 1.5 Litre petrol engine, replacing its diesel engine. The production of BS4 S-Cross has been stopped, but some of them are available right now. Discounts of up to Rs 90,000 are being offered.
Renault Duster Diesel
Renault is going to discontinue the diesel engine of Duster. The SUV will only come with its existing 1.5 Litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a new 1.3 Litre turbo-petrol mill. In the case of Duster, most of the dealerships are sold out on the diesel variant. There are just 2-3 units available all over Delhi. This one is a gem, so if you really want to buy it, you ought to get going NOW!
Volkswagen Vento (With The Old Petrol And Diesel Engines)
Volkswagen is completely sold out on Polo and Ameo, both petrol and diesel. However, very limited dealerships still have the top-end variants of Vento 1.6 Petrol and Diesel left. Their production has been stopped for a long time and only 1 variant of each engine is left.
Mahindra XUV500 Diesel
Mahindra dealerships still have a couple of XUV500 Diesel units left. Most of them only have the W8 (O) and W6 variant left. The base variants are no longer available at dealerships. By May, it will get a new and more powerful 2.0 Litre diesel engine, which will be BS6 compliant.
Mahindra Scorpio
Same with the Scorpio, it will also get a new diesel engine in the month of May. Very limited stock of Scorpio is remaining. Most of them just have the S6 variant available right now, that too only in a single colour option. Discounts of up to Rs 60,000 are being offered.
Honda Jazz (Petrol And Diesel)
Upon enquiring with dealerships, they say that Honda Jazz petrol and diesel units are available. There are not a lot of units but around 3-4 in most of the dealerships. Heavy discounts are being offered for both of them. As of now, there is no official update on when is it getting a BS6 engine.
Honda City Diesel
Honda is going to launch the new generation City next month. It will get a refreshed 1.5 Litre petrol engine, basically with mild-hybrid technology. The diesel engine will remain the same. Honda City petrol has already been upgraded to BS6 a month back. While most of the dealers are sold out of City diesel, a couple of them have it. To note, BS4 cars with BS6 diesel have a comparatively lower life. So, if you are good to live without the discounts, it is better to wait for BS6 City. Primarily, it gets a complete makeover with a lot of new features too.
MG Hector Diesel (Only if the dealerships take your booking)
This is a tricky business. A couple of them are still taking a booking for the Hector diesel while some are not. Basically, only few Hector diesel units are available across NCR. Hector Petrol and petrol-hybrid are already BS6 compliant. Till the time you head out, there might be chances of it being sold out already.
