These images point us to how the 2021 Ford EcoSport could look like along with the expected specs and other details. Ford has been trying to refresh its product lineup in India, having recently launched the automatic variant of the Figo. The updated EcoSport has also been spied testing a couple of times. After the shelving of the Ford-Mahindra Joint Venture, Ford has to look elsewhere to find a partner or fetch a platform from its global lineup to develop a mid-size SUV in India. Until then, however, the American carmaker is witnessing disappointing sales figures. In these images, one can see the digital rendition of how the upcoming Ford EcoSport facelift could look like along with expected specs and other details.
2021 Ford EcoSport Facelift – Expected Specs and Details
KDesign has come up with this rendition and it looks rather modern. While the overall silhouette remains more or less the same, the design elements are significantly upgraded. The front features a large grille with chrome elements, sleek LED headlamps with LED DRLs, upright stance, Sporty bumpers with chunky fog lamp units, chrome garnish on the bumper and skid plates. The front fascia is quite a substantial departure from the current-gen model. Coming to the sides, one is greeted by stylish alloy wheels and side body cladding, chrome surrounds on the window line, roof rails, sunroof and relatively simple creases. The rear-end also looks different than the current model with connected LED sleek taillamps and chrome slab between the two. The bumper and skid plates accentuate the sporty element of the SUV. The blacked-out C-Pillar looks modern.
Expected Features & Specs
The interiors of the 2021 Ford EcoSport facelift will also be modern. This might include features like a large digital touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, multi-purpose steering wheel, audio and voice controls, automatic climate control, connectivity features including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth and Connected Car Tech, Electric Sunroof and much more.
The powertrain options include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine good for 120 hp and 149 Nm and the 1.5-litre diesel engine makes 100 hp and 215 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. There are options of either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The engine-transmission configuration is likely to remain identical even with the updated EcoSport. Being a compact SUV in our market attracts rivalry from the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and more. The expected prices will range from around Rs 9 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 12 lakh, ex-showroom.
