Mahindra XUV700 Crashes, ADAS Saves Passengers

Mahindra XUV700 is a 7-seat SUV with a premium cabin, features and powerful engines making it extremely popular among the masses.

In this latest case, a Mahindra XUV700 crashes but ADAS functions were able to save the passengers. The XUV700 has witnessed unprecedented success ever since it was launched in our market last year. As a matter of fact, waiting periods on some models go as far as 2024. Incredible safety equipment, modern tech features and powerful engines are some of the reasons making the SUV so desirable. Its safety prowess is what we shall discuss in this post today.

Mahindra XUV700 Crashes, ADAS Saves Everyone

The video has been posted by Prateek Singh on YouTube. This channel features content around the performances of popular cars during unfortunate instances. In this case, a high-speed crash of a Mahindra XUV700 has been recorded. As per the information in the video, this case occurred in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. A few people were travelling in the XUV700 at night via a highway. The speed of the SUV was quite high as the video reports it to be around 130 km/h. But the driver lost control and the SUV hit the truck ahead of it.

The exact reason for the crash is not known yet. In any case, the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) feature of the ADAS package of the SUV kicked in and was able to slow down the vehicle considerably before the impact. Note that because the speed was so high, the ADAS was not able to bring it to a complete stop. But that is why you must never drive above the speed limit. Still, the AEB feature made that crucial difference that led to minimizing damage.

Safety

The active and passive safety features of the Mahindra XUV700 must be applauded in this case as no occupant was injured. The airbags were deployed and the body shell and side pillars were able to cocoon the passengers preventing any serious injury. As far as the damage to the vehicle is concerned, the front end has suffered grave damage. But the crumple zone and side pillars were able to absorb the impact safeguarding the passengers. Make sure to drive carefully and follow traffic regulations.
