Latest media reports say that Tata Nexon JTP is in the development. It will most likely launch in 2020 to take upon the EcoSport with its Ecoboost engine. The JTP version of the compact SUV has been spotted once.ย

Yesterday, we reported that the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP are launching in October. Now, as per the latest media reports, the Tata Nexon JTP version is also in development. The hot-SUV is most likely to launch in 2020. Along with the JTP, the Nexon might also receive a mid-cycle update. The engines will be the same but will be tuned for better performance figures. Looks like Tata is on the full power mode to expand its portfolio. It currently has the Harrier, 45X, a sedan, Hornbill micro-SUV and EVs vehicles in its upcoming cars list.

The Tata Nexon JTP will be more powerful and faster!ย

The JTP variant might continue with the same set of 1.2 Litre Revotron engine. This engine is a turbocharged petrol unit. Although, when compared to Nexon, this engine might get a bit tuning for better performance. Currently, this engine produces around 108 BHP of power and 170 Nm of torque. The power may increase by around 10 BHP.

Along with this, Tata Nexon JTP will get optimized 6-speed manual gearbox. Also, the suspension unit might be ramped up for better dynamics. Other than this, there would be no mechanical changes. The JTP version will only be available with the petrol variant.

That’s not all the changes in the Tata Nexon JTP.ย

If you see, the Tiago JTP looks so much sportier than the regular Tiago. The same would go with the Nexon JTP. You can expect body kits, smoked projector headlamps, a larger air dam on the front bumper, faux air vents on the front and rear bumper and more such sporty elements. Also, it might get a newly designed set of alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, it might be similar to the Tiago. It will carry red inserts on the ac vents and knobs, an all-black interior theme with aluminum pedals. Inside the cabin, there would be no feature upgrades or any other changes.

By the way, we said something about the mid-cycle update too.ย

As per the reports from Autocar India, along with the Tata Nexon JTP, Nexon will receive a mid-life update. We do not know any details about the update, but there could be minor cosmetic upgrades and some feature upgrades. However, Nexon is equipped with most of the features that are available within its segment rivals.

Yes, the Tata Nexonย JTP has a competitor.ย

The Nexon JTP will go against the EcoSport with the 1.0 Litre Ecoboost engine. This engine was just launched with the latest Ecosport S Edition. The engine produces around 123 BHP of power and 170 Nm of torque. It is one of the fastest engines in its segment.
