Hot-hatches are very popular in the global markets. They are usually a sporty version of the normal hatchbacks with a more powerful engine and racing-tuned dynamics. In India, there is Fiat Abarth Punto, Volkswagen Polo GT, and Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS. Now, the latest ones of the racetrack are the upcoming Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP. The hatchback and the compact sedan are slated to launch in this Diwali festive season.
Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP to get turbocharged engines!
In India, there are a few hatches that have power beyond 100 BHP. Now, this little machine will feature Nexon’s 1.2 Litre turbocharged petrol engine with tweaked suspension and gear ratios. Along with that, the intake and exhaust systems will also be tweaked. The Tiago JTP will produce a whopping 110 BHP of power and 150 Nm of torque. The same specs will be carried on the Tigor JTP.
As the gear ratios will be changed, the 5-speed Manual gearbox aboard the JTP versions will give a faster and refined shifting.
Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP look even better from their standard versions
Many cosmetic changes have been done to distinguish the Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP from their normal avatars. The front bumper sports a large air dam along with the fog lamp housing. To give it a sports car look, there are air vents on the bonnet and fenders. Also, it gets sporty side skirts, smoked projector headlamps, and a rear diffuser. Do not forget to take a look at the new 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels that both the cars are going to offer.
Inside the cabin, the Tiago and Tigor JTP get a black-grey colour combination. The upholstered seats are upgraded to a premium leather touch. Also, little red inserts are seen on the steering wheel and near the AC vents. The last thing on the sporty list is the new aluminium pedals.
Will the JTP versions get more features than the current Tiago and Tigor?
No. Both the versions will be based on the top-spec trim of Tiago and Tigor. So, Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP will get all the features available. For example, both of them will come with features such as ORVM with LED turn indicator, 5-inch ConnectNext Infotainment system, 8 Harman Kardon speakers, navigation and voice calling option through the app.
