In a bizarre turn of events, a farmer uses a Skoda Octavia as a borewell motor. Indians come up with interesting ‘jugaads’ to solve any problem with available resources. Skoda Octavia is one of the most popular performance sedans in our market. The model used in this activity is an old-generation unit. Its impressive engine and driving dynamics are what draw driving enthusiasts toward this Czech sedan. However, no one would’ve thought that it could be used for a farming activity too. Let us take a look at the details of this latest case.

Skoda Octavia As Borewell Motor
This post comes from carlovers_07 on Instagram. The visuals capture a rather unique instance. A farmer has devised a unique solution to pull water from the ground using a borewell system which is powered by a Skoda Octavia. He took out the front wheel of the car. Then he fixed the belt of the motor onto the rim of the vehicle. As the driver accelerates the car, the wheel turns. Note that the car is suspended in the air so that it doesn’t move and the wheels spin freely. The moving rim moves the belt with it.

This, in turn, operates the borewell motor enabling it to suck water out of the ground. The belt is so long that it reaches the well which seems quite deep. To keep the engine cool, the bonnet of the vehicle is open. This has to be one of the most innovative solutions to solve a real-life problem. We can only hope that this was not done just to create a viral reel but is actually useful in some way. In any case, this highlights the passion people have for innovation in our country.

I love to witness instances of people’s ‘jugaad’ in real life. They come up with solutions to everyday problems using the resources at their disposal. In my opinion, this is the biggest strength of our people. In many cases, this thinking is exactly what’s needed to change the fortunes of a place. There are problems everywhere. Having the ability to solve it at a personal level without waiting for anyone else to offer help is a great quality to have. We hope that you feel inspired by this act. However, we wouldn’t recommend anyone using their personal vehicles for such acts unless it is an emergency situation. We can’t be sure about the long-term effects on the car.
