Hero Xpulse 200

Finally, the Hero Xpulse 200 and 200T are making their debut in India on 1st May. While the Xpulse is for pure off-roading, the latter is for touring.

After first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, Hero has finally decided to launch the awaited Xpulse 200 in India. Along with it, Xpulse 200T will also be launched, which was unveiled at EICMA 2018.

While the Hero Xpulse 200 is an off-roader, the 200T is the road-friendly version of it. Both of them use the same 200cc engine, that comes on Xtreme 200R. The off-road version replaces the extinct Hero Impulse.

The launch is scheduled for 1st May, the coming Wednesday. It will now be the cheapest adventure motorcycle in India, majorly undercutting the price of Himalayan.

Hero Xpulse 200 uses a 199.5cc oil-cooled fuel-injected engine. The motor delivers 18 BHP at 8000 RPM and 17 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. The engine comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

The off-roading bits on the Xpulse 200 include a windscreen, spoked wire wheels, a higher-positioned mudguard and exhaust muffler and dual-purpose treading on the tires.

Same on the 200T include a tall windscreen, alloy wheels, slightly higher suspension travel and a textured cushioned seat. These are some of the styling bits that differentiate both the bikes.

For suspension, Xpulse 200 and 200T use 37mm telescopic forks at the front and adjustable monoshock at the back. The suspension travel will be different for both the models.

Braking is handled by disc brakes at both the ends with single-ABS as standard. Xpulse 200 will most likely get switchable-ABS for better off-roading performance.

We expect the prices to stay in the range of Rs 1-1.1 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Hero had earlier stated that it would price most of its premium motorcycles around Rs 1 Lakh budget.
