Hyundai is planning to showcase the AX micro SUV concept at the 2020 Auto Expo. It will go against Maruti Ignis, Mahindra KUV100 and upcoming Tata H2X.

Seeing the gradually increasing rice for micro SUVs, Hyundai has decided to step up its game. Hyundai AX micro-SUV concept is going to come at the 2020 Auto Expo. We have models like S-Presso, Kwid, Ignis and the KUV100 in this space.

Hyundai would bring in the production version of the AX micro SUV concept by 2021. This particular space attracts millennial buyers who want an SUV type looking car but with the budget and dimensions of a hatchback.

Hyundai Venue Petrol Automatic Review

Codenamed as AX concept, Hyundai has reportedly fixed 70,000 units for its annual production. It will be positioned below the Venue and in a price range similar to the Hyundai Grand i10.

Reports suggest that the Hyundai micro SUV is likely to make its way to India as well. It might be seen at the 2020 Auto Expo in the concept form. In Korea, it will be the first light-weight vehicle to enter production after two decades.

What remains unknown if the upcoming AX concept will be a micro-SUV like the Mahindra KUV100 or a hatchback-crossover type, similar to the Renault Kwid and Maruti S-Presso.

The 1.1 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine from the Santro might make its way on the micro SUV. Similarly, there are chances of the slightly bigger 1.2 Litre petrol engine from the Grand i10 coming on the AX concept.
