Here is a video capturing the capabilities of a modified Mahindra Thar and a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in an off-roading challenge. Now, Thar has dominated the lifestyle affordable off-roading SUV segment in our market ever since its launch in 2021. It still commands long waiting times in some cities on some variants highlighting its popularity. On the other hand, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is a name that holds a rich legacy of the American carmaker. What happens when these two go on wild adventures together?

Mahindra Thar vs Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Off-Roading Challenge
The video has been uploaded by Thisisgabru on YouTube. He regularly features content around off-roading adventures involving prominent SUVs. For this video, the team is able to gather numerous Thars, Fortuners, Gypses and a Wrangler Rubicon SUV. They all decide to explore new terrains which are quite challenging since they are not regular or used terrains. This becomes apparent when the group encountered their first obstacle in the form of a broken patch of the road. The team gathered some cement bags from the side of the road to fill that hole allowing the movement of their SUVs.

However, the next leg of the excursion is extremely dangerous for the health of the cars. They reach a place that looks like a riverbed with lots of big rocks and boulders. There is no clear-cut path forward. This is where all the SUVs are put to the extreme test. Note that almost all SUVs in the group are modified heavily for such terrains. They have special tyres and lift kits installed elevating the SUVs to offer the maximum ground clearance and traction. That is the reason why most SUVs are able to even attempt this.

The modified Mahindra Thars performed extremely well with proper guidance from fellow SUV owners. However, a lot of caution had to be exercised. Despite that, there were many occasions where the SUVs were hit by a boulder from underneath. Finally, a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon arrived at the scene and was easily able to crawl its way over all the obstacles. This left everyone impressed justifying its rich legacy and the astronomical price tag of around Rs 60 lakh. Which car would you prefer in an off-roading challenge out of Thar and Wrangler Rubicon?
