Maruti Brezza Owner Reviews the VW Taigun

  • VW Taigun is considered a driver’s car for the right reasons.
  • This review shows the difference between the performance of a Taigun vis-a-vis Brezza.
  • Taigun comes with two turbo petrol engines – 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre.

In this latest video by a YouTuber, a Maruti Brezza owner reviews a VW Taigun. Now, while the Brezza is a compact SUV product, the Taigun features in the mid-size SUV segment of our market. Nevertheless, this comparison aims to compare the performance of a driver’s car with a popular car. That is the reason why the YouTuber decides to make a Brezza owner drive the Taigun GT, which is the performance-focused version of the SUV. Let us see his reaction.

The video has been created by Daksh Agnihotri on his YouTube channel. He interacts with a Brezza owner who has driven cars like the Skoda Fabia, Honda City, and Renault Duster. However, his experience with the Skoda Fabia was not that great due to the dealership and service centre. That is why he opted to go for Maruti Brezza this time around. But he was curious to drive the latest-gen VW product. That is the reason why the YouTuber offers him his Taigun GT to get his reaction.

As soon as he sits in the Taigun, he feels the difference in the weight of the steering. While the steering of the Brezza, he feels, is inconsistent and laggy, it is responsive in the Taigun, as expected. Another important factor is the safety that Taigun offers. It is a 5-star safety-rated car at GNCAP. But the main difference lies in the sheer performance. The Taigun GT offers an explosive performance producing 150 hp and 250 Nm, especially with the 7-speed DSG gearbox. That is what took the Brezza owner’s breath away. He was thoroughly impressed by the Taigun and its driving capabilities.

Finally, he is seen enjoying the drive in the Taigun like a youngster. But he remains apprehensive about the aftersales services of the Skoda and VW. That becomes a problem if you live anywhere other than the biggest metropolitan cities in our country. The service centres are just not readily available and the ownership still remains a bit on the expensive side compared to the products from other popular carmakers. What are your thoughts on this?
