Hyundai Verna has still not gone through the crash tests but the new facelifted version gets a lot of safety features. Here’s an example of its safety.

Here is an example of the build quality of the recently launched Hyundai Verna facelift. In terms of structure, it remains the same as the pre-facelift version but gets more safety features onboard. This Verna facelift crashed at a speed of 120 km/hr and had a serious impact on the front portion.

The accident happened on a national highway in Uttar Pradesh during night time. The owner was travelling with four people and an 11-month-old baby. The speed was around 120 km/hr when suddenly, a cow came in front of the car. The driver panicked and took a sharp left, following which, it hit a truck.

The car turned around once before coming to a halt. The owner said that smoke started coming out of the airbags but the car did not catch fire. All passengers including the 11-month old baby walked away without any major injuries. The baby did not even get any scratches while the front passenger got a minor cramp in the legs.

The images show the car has been completely totalled. The front portion has been damaged and even the engine parts have come off. All the airbags including front and side airbags were immediately deployed. The car has reached the showroom and the owner is now waiting for the insurance procedures.

The facelifted Hyundai Verna gets six airbags on the top-end variants, front and rear parking sensors, brake assist, traction control and rear parking camera. It gets three engine options including a 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol motor, a 1.5 Litre turbodiesel engine and a 1.5 Litre petrol engine. Prices start at Rs 9.30 Lakhs up to Rs 15.09 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
