Yamaha Indiaย is all set to launch an all new product in our market. While multiple publications were claiming it to be the MT-03, that is not the case. The bikeย seen in the spy shots bears some resemblance to the M-Slaz, but it is not the same bike. So what exactly is this? It is a new Yamaha FZ 200cc bike made for our market. Yamaha will launch the bike in India on January 24 (today). They have released a new teaser image of the upcoming model. For quite some time now, Yamaha has been adding scooters and commuters to its portfolio in India. Yamaha FZ 200cc Bike Price in India

A 200 cc or 250 cc bike like this is likely to cost around Rs. 1.5-2 lakh (ex showroom). It will help plug the gap between the R15 and the R3. Amongst its biggest rival in India will be the KTM Duke 200.
Yamaha FZ 200cc Bike Specifications
Not much is known about the upcoming Yamaha FZ 200cc motorcycle in terms of specifications. While some are speculating it will receive a 200cc engine, other suggest it could be a 250cc mill. This 250cc engine could be closely related to the one that powers the FZ 250 sold in Brazil. The test bike features disc brakes on both ends. The rear gets a monoshockย suspension and the front gets standard telescopic forks. Other details are unavailable as yet.
The 250 cc engine that powers the brazil-spec Fazer 250 puts out 20.7 PS of max power and a peak torque of 20.5 Nm. It is highly likely that the upcoming bike from Yamaha will get this engine as a 250 cc model will help plug the gap between the R15 and the R3.
Yamaha FZ 200cc Bike Design
The design of the upcoming bike seems like a mix between the MT-03 and M-Slaz. While the rear is identical to the MT-03, the front end is similar in design to the M-Slaz or M-15. The headlamps feature LED lighting, but are slightly different in profile in comparison to the M-Slaz’ headlamp. The teaser image above shows the upcoming bike’s headlamp unit. Overall, the bike appears to be an amalgamation of multiple Yamaha products. The design seems to have taken inspiration from the MT-03 and the M-Slaz, while the engine is likely to come from the Fazer 250. Spy shots of the upcoming Yamaha FZ 250 also reveal an exhaust similar to that of the FZ-S and Fazer sold in India.
