The Ford baby Bronco – as its known right now – is a smaller version of the upcoming all-new Bronco SUV and is based on the 2020 Ford Escape. It will launch in mid-2020.
While Ford is prepping to bring back the iconic Bronco nameplate in 2020, Ford is also prepping a smaller version of the Bronco that could be launched sooner in various international markets. Its being called the ‘Baby Bronco’ right now but it could be called the Adventurer or the Bronco Scout when its launched.
The Ford baby Bronco is based on the 2020 Ford Escape but not much is known about this car right now. It has been spied for the first time wearing a camouflage livery and testing in off-road conditions. Although not much can be figured out from over the camo livery, we can say that the SUV appears quite chunky with a slight up-kink on the rear doors. The face too is heavily camouflaged but we can see a slight curvature around the headlamps and grille.
The roof could also feature some cladding along with roof-rails. It seems to have quite an upright stance from the rear and wears some chunky bumpers down below as well. There are no interior spy shots of the baby Bronco yet but chances are that this car will use some bits of interiors from the Ford Escape on which it is based.

There has been no word on the technical specifications of the baby Bronco either. However, as its based on the Ford Escape, it could carry the same powertrains as in the Escape. That way, the baby Bronco could be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder EcoBoostย engine delivering 180PS and 240Nm of torque or a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine churning out 250PS and 373Nm of torque.ย The Ford baby Bronco will come with four-wheel drive and raised ground clearance than the escape to give it proper off-road credentials.

The baby Bronco is expected to be launched sometime around mid-2020, certainly before the Bronco. While there has been no word about bringing this car to India yet, we will have more details on it once the car has been launched internationally. The Ford baby Bronco will rival the likes of the Jeep Compass in the international market.
