Mahindra XUV300 will launch in India in February this year with several segments first features such as 7-airbags and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Bookings for the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 sub-compact SUV are now open across all Mahindra dealerships in the country. Based on the X100 platform which it shares with the SsangYong Tivoli, the XUV300 will make its debut in India during the month of February this year. Measuring under 4-meters in length, this sub-compact SUV is going to primarily compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the current segment leader. In addition to this, its rivals will also include the Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and the Honda WR-V.
Senior company management has officially confirmed that the XUV 300 is going to compete with urban utility vehicles ranging in-between the price range of INR 8 lakh to INR 12 Lakh. Expecting this new age Mahindra to adorn a price tag in the same range hence becomes quite obvious.
The Mahindra XUV 300 will make its case against the competition by offering them several segment first features. For instance, in the creature comfort department, this SUV comes with 7-airbags on the top-spec variant with it offering dual-airbags, ABS and 4-disk brakes as standard right from the base variant onwards.
Similarly, the Mahindra XUV 300 is going to offer dual-zone climate control along with front parking sensors on the top-spec variants while right from the base variant it comes with LED tail-lamps and power windows on all four doors.
The Mahindra XUV 300 is going to come with both petrol as well as diesel engine options under its hood. The diesel engine is going to be the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder unit which made its debut with the Marazzo MPV. This engine is capable of churning out 120 BHP of power along with 300 Nm of peak torque. The petrol derivative is going to be a 1.2-litre, turbocharged unit capable of producing 200 Nm of torque. Power figures of this engine will be revealed soon.
The Mahindra XUV 300 will go on sale in a total of three variants. These will be the W4, W6 and the W8. In addition to these, there will be a optional W8 (O) trim offering more features and safety kit.
