The highly anticipated sub-compact SUV, the Mahindra XUV300 is going to launch in India on the 14th of February. Will Compete against Maruti Vitara Brezza.
Mahindra has today announced that it is going to launch its all-new sub-compact SUV, the XUV300 in India on the 14th of February 2019. With an estimated price tag of INR 8 Lakh to INR 12 Lakh, it is going to compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and the Tata Nexon. However, due to an expansively loaded top-end variant, it will also pitch against the Hyundai Creta to some extent.
The Mahindra XUV300 is going to launch in India with petrol as well as diesel derivatives. The petrol engine is going to be a 1.2-litre, turbocharged unit. While the diesel engine is going to be a 1.5-litre unit. The exact engine specifications of the petrol derivative are still under the wraps. However we believe that the diesel derivative is the same 1.5-litre unit which made its debut in the Mahindra Marazzo. As a result, it power output figures will stand at 120 BHP and 300 Nm of peak torque.
At the time of launch, the Mahindra XUV300 will offer a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard across the range. The interesting thing to note here is that there will be no automatic transmission option on offer at the time of launch in February. However, the automaker does have plans to introduce an AMT gearbox in the XUV300’s line-up at a later stage. The testing for which is currently underway.
The Mahindra XUV300 is going to retail in India in a total of three different variants. These are M4, M6 and M8. Right from the base variant onwards, this sub-compact SUV is going to offer an impressive feature list. This will include a 2-Din audio system, power windows on all four doors, steering mounted audio control along with disk-brakes on all variants. Not only this
In addition to these three variants, the Mahindra XUV300 is also going to come with an additional ‘optional’ trim level which will sit above the M8 trim. This is the variant which will aim towards attracting customers from the base variants of the Hyundai Creta. It is going to come with features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, a sunroof, leather upholstery among.
