MSIL first showcased the Baleno RS last year in February at the Auto Expo. It will become MSIL’s second product launch in 2017 after the Maruti Ignis back in January 2017. Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS – Exterior Design
We have managed to get a hold of images of the production ready Baleno RS. As evident, it is identical to the concept version that was on display at the 2016 Auto Expo. Up front, the Baleno RS features a new bumper and black mesh grille. It gets the same headlamps as the Alpha trim with projector units and LED DRLs.
At the back, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS gets a new bumper with black inserts. There is a subtle black skirt goes all around the car. While the alloy wheel design is the same as the other variants of the Baleno, they come finished in black. Maruti has not made any other changes to the design.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS Engine and Transmission
A new 1.0 L Turbocharged petrol engine powers the Baleno RS. While in the UK-spec Baleno this engine makes 110 BHP and 170 Nm, the India-spec Baleno RS makes do with 100 BHP and 150 Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual. However, there have been rumours of a 6-speed automatic joining the lineup eventually. Expect a 0-100 KMPH time of around 10 seconds with a top speed close to 190 KMPH.
