Digging some info about the vehicle, it was found that the car is just over 1 year old. It is quite surprising that the luxury sedan is relatively new and it had such a major mechanical defect. People on social media were quick to point out that such luxury cars are not meant to be driven on poor roads. Some other people commented that why can’t the minister have a vehicle from Indian carmakers like Tata and Mahindra. Their cars are better designed to tackle the conditions of our roads.
The Mercedes E-Class comes with varied powertrain options. This includes a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 194 hp and 320 Nm, a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 192 hp and 400 Nm and an AMG line 3.0-litre 6-cylinder mill that outputs 282 hp and 600 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. All these engines come mated to a 9-speed G-TRONIC automatic transmission. The prices range from Rs 65 lakh, ex-showroom.
