There is no shortage of bizarre and, at times, frustrating incidents on Indian roads and this latest case can vouch for that claim.
As bizarre as it sounds, a brand new road was constructed around a parked motorcycle in Vellore. Under the smart city initiative by the government, numerous small cities are being transformed. This is done by building infrastructure and providing modern amenities to these cities. Roads are a critical component of the development of any small city or town. That was the reason why new roads are being laid down by local municipalities. But this turned out to be a nightmare for one bike owner in Vellore.

Road Built Around Motorcycle In Vellore
This incident has been reported near Gandhi Road, at Kaliamman Koil Street in Vellore. The contractor hired by the Municipal Corporation to lay a new road didn’t bother to intimate the bike owner, S Murugan about his bike parked on the side of the road where the new tarmac was being applied. Instead, the contractor decided to go ahead and pave the road with the tyres of the bike getting stuck in the road itself. When this was reported to the owner by someone, he informed the authorities. The Corporation officials were shocked to hear this.

They argued that they were not aware of this issue and the contractor didn’t inform them. This puts the Corporation under fire by the public despite doing a great job of laying the road for the benefit of the local people. However, there has been no record of what action the Corporation took against the contractor. Nevertheless, he must be put to trial and demanded an explanation for his actions. The bike was removed from the ground later on. The images show the condition of the bike while it was stuck on the tarmac.

We could only hope that the owner gets the compensation and the contactor be made responsible for his actions that caused distress to the owner and harmed the image of the Corporation. What do you think about this weird instance of the bike being paved on the ground while laying down the road in Vellore?
