Tata Tigor Automatic gets 8-speaker Harman sound system, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and much more.
Tata Motors recently introduced two more trims to the Tigor Automatic line up. The two new variants, XMA and XZA+ start at a price of Rs 6.39 lakh and Rs 7.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
Both the cars will carry loaded features in their respective trim and the car will be made available only in the 1.2-litre Revotron naturally aspirated petrol motor. Mind you, Tata Motors recently said that they will phase out their smaller diesel engines from its line-up when the new emission norms strike in.
Earlier, Tata Tigor automatic was only available in the XZA trim making it a difficult task to invite new buyers for automatic cars. Now with the introduction of XMA, Tata Motors plans to increase its customers base who are looking for an automatic sub-compact sedan.
Mr. S N Barman, Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Customer Support, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit (PVBU), Tata Motors, said “In a constant effort to maintain our growth momentum, we continuously introduce advanced technologies in our products, fill white spaces and offer exciting product interventions to meet the growing aspirations of our customers.
Furthermore, This strategy also includes continuously expanding and strengthening our automatic portfolio. We are confident that our customers will appreciate the perfect combination of practicality and convenience these new additions have to offer.”
The range topping XZA+ trim offers features like 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Voice command. For a better sound experience, Tata Tigor Automatic gets equipped with 8-speaker sound system by Harman.
The car also gets multi-function steering wheel, projector headlamps with LED taillights, automatic climate control, 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels as other features.
Safety features like dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, seat-belt reminder, reverse parking sensors, corner-stability control, speed sensing door locks and engine immobilizer come as standard in both the trims.
Tata Tigor currently comes in a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine and a 1.05-litre Revotorq turbocharged diesel engine. The petrol motor churns out a total of 84 bhp with 114 Nm of torque while the oil burns produce 69 bhp with 140 Nm of torque. Both are mated to 5-speed manual transmission as standard and an option of AMT is available only with petrol trims.
Tata Tigor rivals against the likes of Hyundai Xcent, Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Volkswagen Ameo. The prices for the same starts at Rs 5.60 lakh for the base trim and goes up to Rs 7.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end spec.
