Chevrolet India Increases Car Prices By Up To Rs. 15000– Details Inside

Chevrolet (General Motors) India has announced an increase in the prices of Chevrolet Cars in India by up to Rs. 15,000 in India. The cars which are selling well in India has seen a hike in prices which includes small cars – Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Beat, MPV Chevrolet Tavera and luxury sedan Chevrolet Cruze. Other cars in the portfolio of Chevrolet India have not been touched. The Chevrolet Aveo, Aveo Uva hatchback (soon to be replaced by Chevrolet Sail hatchback) have not seen any price increase. Chevrolet is finally experiencing a better pace in terms of sales and market recognition and giving final touches to its ongoing success are the three awards recently bagged by the brand at JD Power Awards organized by JD Power and Associates. Chevrolet Spark has never been successful enough for the company and has been way behind in terms of sales from the company’s most successful product till date, Chevrolet Beat. The company offers only above two cars in the small car segment and of which one being a weak player is a matter of concern and it needs to be worked out. Chevrolet Spark 800 Launch In India By 2012

General Motors India’s President Karl Slym has confirmed that the launch of Chevrolet Spark 800 in India is planned in 2 years time frame. The Chevrolet Spark 800 is already available in some countries, in India, the existing model of Chevrolet Spark has a 1 Litre petrol MPFI Engine. This engine delivers a max power of 63 BHP and max torque of about 90 Nm. The 800 CC car by Chevrolet will compete with the Hyundai 800 which will be coming near to the launch of Spark 800 in India. This will intensify the competition in small car segment which is mostly conquered by Maruti Alto 800 CC. Also the Tata Dolphin, the car larger than Tata Nano and smaller than Tata Indica is also expected by 2012. Its going to be an interesting time when the next Auto Expo In India to be held in 2012 will be full of a new generation of 800 CC small cars.
